Nanny desperately required - BRISTOL

MumOf2Amber · 19/04/2012 08:23

I am in desperate need of a ofsted registered live out Nanny to have sole charge of my 2 children whilst I work my shifts as a care assistant. My son is almost 3 and my daughter is 4, my daughter has learning difficulties and global development delay meaning she is at a much lower development level than your average 4 year old. Nanny must be very flexible as I work on a 4 week shift rota which I receive at least 10 days before it starts, this is when I can tell the nanny what days and times she will be required. I can gaurantee at least 30 hours a week, no more than 5 days per week (half days) but may be less if I work long shifts (full days). Will include some Saturday & Sunday hours. We live in Bristol - BS37. I don't mind if you have children you need to bring along. I will be starting work in around 2 weeks so please contact me ASAP! :) x

Hey Amber! Try callin agencies around and see if they have someone suitable. In the meanwhile try registering and looking around on sites like Nannies in Bristol and Nannies. Also post on gumtree! This should give you enough options :) and congrats on your job :D

What would be possible hours as a rough idea? Have you advertised on Gumtree and Childcare.co.uk? Giving a rough salary idea will attract more nannies too.

Thanks for ur replies :)
Ive posted ads on gumtree, childcare.co.uk and findababysitter.com so hopefully someone gets back to me. Ive had a few people interested but none are ofsted registered! I will be claiming help with funding through working tax credits so they must be registered! Ive got a few agencies looking for me but tbh I cant afford the £800 minimum fee they charge :/ but if they do find someone suitable I will have to find the money somewhere!

Ebb - its 30hours per week and i would be willing to pay between £8 - £10 p/h

It sounds a lovely job. I would have applied ( I live close to K.G park ) but unfortunately, although I'm eligible, I'm not currently Ofsted registered and I think the process would take too long for your requirements. I hope you find someone soon. Smile

I think I have seen your ads, but didn't notice a salary on them - to be honest most nannies aren't going to reply to an ad if they don't know what you are offering.

If you put on your ad that you are offering eg. a gross annual salary of £14k plus additional hours at £10 an hour you might get more replies.

Rubirosa · 22/04/2012 14:51

Also if I am honest by first thought when I saw the ad was that surely a care assistant would not be able to afford to pay a nanny decent wages, so without an indication of pay on the ad many nannies might discount it.

Amber, have you had any contact from ofsted registered nannies from any of the places? If not I can look up some more for you :)

Rubirosa - surely most childcare providers are aware of the fact that help with funding is available to people on low incomes such as tax credits, childcare vouchers etc. After all this is one of the main reasons nanny's become Ofsted registered because there are plenty of nannies that have replied to my ads that are interested but they're not registered or are just in the process of registering. I have found most Nanny's have their own rates in mind anyway.

Ash87 - so far I've only had one girl say she can be available to me Monday - Wednesday but I havnt found anyone else available to cover the other days and that also makes it harder as if it was a nanny share I couldn't gaurantee a number of hours for each of them as I work different days each week. I am meeting a girl on Monday who has sent off for her OFSTED registration and is really keen to help but I am meant to be starting work next week so not sure how it's going to work out! If you could find anyone that would be a huge help! x
