Childminder's Club:Slightly different Retainer fee query

I have some Termtime only children. Currently they pay full in TT and half in the "Holidays" which they don't really need

However more and more are using occasional days in the Hols

I need to sort out a system which allows them the luxury of only paying for TT with only a small penalty for keeping the space available accross the holiday (if that makes sense) - BUT allows me to sell their space during the hols to another child so I am full

Any ideas? (if any of that made sense.....)

I do term-time only contracts for school children - they pay my highest rate of £4 per hour (minimum fee £5 for one morning or £12 for one afternoon exluding meals). If they want to book care in the holidays (or if the school closes for heavy snow etc) they have an "extra hours booking form" to fill in & they know there is no guarantee I will have space.

For under fives I would still expect a retainer because I've never had a holiday enquiry for that age-group. I don't charge the retainer if another child is using the place so there is incentive for parent to let you know at the earliest opportunity if they don't want the space.

If I charged a higher rate TT only I'd have to charge at least £4.10 to equal a FT place which is 90p extra

If I charge £3.75 (45p) extra that would cover the existing retainer fee (so to speak)
