Umm that's it really - we have been asked for one for our last three children - so it is expected

Should I include a timeline eg what happened when?

Do I write first person or third?

I'm so cr*p at this

HELP!!!

Don't you think copyright ThePrisoner, instead?

ThePrisoner · 08/02/2006 21:25

Oh OK then, but can I have shares in your business?!

katymac · 08/02/2006 21:27

Well on my last version of the accounts I'm making about £380 a month for a 50+ hr week - so if you think it's woth something....I'll let you buy in

ThePrisoner · 08/02/2006 21:43

Oh dear ... you want to have shares in mine instead?!

katymac · 08/02/2006 21:45

Well I keep reminding myself about the 33% elec, 10% CT & WR and the 10% W&T....but I can't get up much enthusiasm

Mind you it's on a turnover of £30...so I'm doing something right....just maybe not the accounts

Remind me again why I do it?

OP posts:
katymac · 08/02/2006 21:58

Well if you add back the stuff I get to keep I'm on £620 a month which is about £2.98 an hour...big deal

Is it financially worth your while to have employees rather than having less children and doing it yourself (with dh)?

katymac · 08/02/2006 22:19

Not really - but as we both have fairly serious health problems we couldn't do it by ourselves with 6 children so it's better (I thought) to have 9 and lots of help

Taking on our newest helper has again just pushed us into non profit but as we build to 9 a day we will be OK (I hope)

Currently we have 5 on Mon, 9 on Tues and Wed,5 on Thurs and 4 on friday

If we can get the other days up we will be OK

DH has been medically retired since 93 and I haven't had a F/T job since 95...we're a couple of old crocks

If we only had 3 children we could job share - but it didn't work well - we grew, got help then grew again

I see to some extent as a "public service" and I certainly earn as much as when I was working 20 hrs a week in the CS - but it is more fun - I like being in charge

And who knows I may make a million one day?

ThePrisoner · 08/02/2006 22:26

I'm more of an old crock than you because my last full-time job was in 1984 - before my dd was born!!!

katymac · 08/02/2006 22:29

um....in 1984 I did my oLevels for the Prisoner

I think I'm just on a downer - I've redone my rates cos I've been getting lots of 10 til 1 or 11 - 2 bookings which mess up a whole day

I'm saying either 8-12 or 1-5 or you can have accross lunch but it's a minimum of 6 hrs - I think people were taking advantage of my good cooking

(Just an aside - are you able to do link to your list of minders and where they live for flutterbee, on the "wanting nanny or CM in South East" thread?)

ThePrisoner · 08/02/2006 22:35

Hmmm, I did my "O" levels in ... errr ... 1974/5 ... God, I really am old!!!

katymac · 08/02/2006 22:36

In 74 I was in year 1....not learning to read (didn't manage that until 7+)

ThePrisoner · 08/02/2006 22:38

Sorry, had to go and polish my zimmer frame ...

katymac · 08/02/2006 22:39

Are the batteries working in your hearing aid dear?

And are they bifocals................?

OP posts:
ThePrisoner · 08/02/2006 22:42

I know you are going to think that this is a wind-up, but I promise you faithfully that it isn't ... I failed my hearing test at Christmas, and am 3 weeks into learning to live with a hearing aid! I think it will impress OFSTED because I won't have to go hunting for yet more resources to demonstrate how hot I am on disability issues - I'll just point out that the mindees are having to live with one! (Now everyone in RL will really know who I am!!)

katymac · 08/02/2006 22:43

Anyway when I get my artificial hip I'll be in good company...they've been promising to replace it for years I'll be dead of old age before it happens and I had 6 years of incontinence pads........

OP posts:
katymac · 08/02/2006 22:45

I didn't read that before I posted.......

Never mind DH is Jamaican and OFSTED said we didn't have enough positive representations of multiculturalism - so your hearing aid won't count......all our disabilities do apparently

OP posts:
ThePrisoner · 08/02/2006 22:46

Haven't got bifocals, but had to get reading glasses 18 months ago! And have still got most of my own teeth.

ThePrisoner · 08/02/2006 22:46

Why won't my disability count??! That's discrimination!!

katymac · 08/02/2006 22:47

Because it's OFSTED and they are unreasonable

OP posts:
katymac · 08/02/2006 22:49

night

OP posts:
ThePrisoner · 08/02/2006 22:50

Perhaps your dh isn't a positive representation of multiculturalism because he didn't smile enough??!

When I had my inspection and we got onto the "disabilties" issues, I said that I minded several children who had a range of "proper" disabilities (no hearing aids!!), and that all the minded children knew all about these disabilities, how we dealt with certain aspects of them, how we could enable everyone to partake in all activities etc., but that wasn't seen as enough. I still needed some more books, jigsaws etc.

Nighty night!

nzshar · 08/02/2006 23:04

ThePrisoner they have to be able to tick the box they have that says jigsaws/books....special needs.

I swear they do!!!
