Do you have to do EYFS when looking after relatives?

I'm going to be childminding my niece and was told I didn't have to, but cant seem to find official clarification anywhere.

Thanks

Depends if you're being paid or not, of yes they're just like any other mindee and you should have paperwork permissions etc, I don't get paid to have my niece but I still
Got medical permission just in case I couldn't get hold of sil in an emergency.

The evidence does not count towards an Ofsted inspection though.

Thanks for your replies.

Cuff - if it doesn't count towards an inspection then does it really have to be done? Why would it not count towards an inspection?

I think it's something to do with you not being anlagen to register only to look after grandchildren etc do the parents can get help, I think you have to have others on your books but could be wrong.
