Childminders - Moving House

We're looking into moving house in the near future. What happens with my registration do I have to completely re-register and do the ICP (or equivelent) and the suitable persons interview again or do they just come and check that my house is safe?

Also when we do move I want a room downstairs to be just a play room (and use it for the majority of the day apart from meals and tv time) do OFSTED allow you to do this? Does anyone have a playroom?

A childminder friend of mine moved house, informed ofsted of the new address and they just asked her to fill in a risk assessment form.No visit.

I know someone who was told the same thing - and then OFSTED got into a panic and decided that they would visit instead, and said that she couldn't have children in the new house until they had done so. She pointed out to them that this wasn't possible (she'd taken a couple of days holiday to move, and wasn't prepared to wait for a couple of weeks for them to sort themselves out).

She also explained that it was ridiculous that she could sit on a street corner with her mindees, or spend all day in MacDonalds, but wasn't allowed to care for them in her new house. They relented and decided that she was probably sensible enough to decide if the house was safe.

Recent experience of my friend is - ok to carry on minding current children in new house, but if she had not already been working she would not have been able to start without house inspection. Hope move goes well.
