Would a nanny be interested in these hours?

I'm just trying to have a think ahead about childcare for when I go back to work. We'll have DS aged 3.1 and DC2 who will be 9 months. Up until now we've used a CM but will be moving house soon so am looking at options again.

I work on a freelance basis so hours aren't fixed but the days that I do work, I'll be working in the morning. Ideally I'd like someone to be at the house to help with the DC's breakfasts and general morning faffing so I guess from 0730 - 1330/1400.

I'm aware that this isn't a full day as such but would it appeal to someone who had school aged children for example? I'd have no problem with the DCs being taken on a school run and of course DS is fast approaching school age himself (sniff).

Am a bit put off by the whole tax thing for employing a nanny but it makes sense in so many other ways - for example if the DCs are under the weather, helping with the mornings and things.

Thanks in advance.

im sure you will find plenty of nannies happy to do that

especially a mum to collect there own school-age children, or even a nanny to collect another families charges after school.... perhaps their own charges who are now all at full-time school?

should be easy to find for a september start

Great, thanks. I was just a bit worried that it wasn't a full day but a bit longer than a half day as well, so obviously pay for the Nanny wouldn't be as good as full-time post.

Hmm, will have to wait until we actually move I guess and then think about advertising.

What are you put off about with regard to tax/employment obligations? Maybe we can help put your mind at ease.

Just generally the whole thing about making sure that tax and NI and things are all sorted, writing contracts to include sick pay, performance reviews, thinking about things like sick leave, maternity pay etc, etc. Just in a bit of a head spin - being pregnant isn't helping on the old thinking clearly front.

I just quite like handing over the DCs and payment every month to the CM and letting them think about all things like that Blush

I currently work afternoons as a nanny so I am looking for mornings at the moment. I expect there will be others looking too...

What area are you in?

cupcakecastles so sorry, but won't be looking for a while yet. As we're moving house soon, I was trying to weigh up childcare options and DC2 is still an onboard passenger!
