Rate for live out Nanny in Tring?

Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect to pay a live out nanny in Tring for my 3 girls, aged 19 mnths, 9 and 13 years old, probably 9 hour days, 8am-7pm, 5 days a week?

I'm really not sure whether to go for a nursery and childminder (for the 9 yr old) or try a nanny this time so they can all be together and at home in the evening. Smile

Thanks, much appreciated

I would have expected that £10 gross per hour - use www.mranchovy.com/calc/paye201213 to multiply it out to annual salary plus calculate employers NI - would secure you a local qualified, experienced nanny. Some may want more, some may accept less.

Calculate what you can afford to pay, then offer below that amount, so you have room to increase the salary say after probation, end of year, of if you need to do so to secure the best nanny.

I live very close to you & am Ofsted registered & have been nannying for 18 years.

Having worked with families for an average of 6 years, for an average of 58 hours a week, my last pay packet was £400nett per week & petrol at 40p per mile with 4 weeks holiday (Rubbish when you compare it to a 'normal' full-time career on a pro-rata basis) & bank hols. This was throughout the Chilterns region, primarily Amersham & Beaconsfield as well as The Chalfonts.

The position you are suggesting equates to 55 hours a week & as such I would imagine you would have to offer at least £360nett per week to register interest from anyone.

I am now working part-time & earn £10nett per hour. I can look at the gross figure & let you know this if you'll find it helpful.
