Getting my teeth into sorting my risk assessment forms.

Do you need to have risk asessment for things you do not do? For example I walk everywhere, do I need to include what I would do if I was using a motor car? sorry if thats a daft question as I am not sure.

I do not go near open water etc.

Do I just include what I actually do.

How often do you review your forms?

Thanks.

As a teacher we just cover every eventuality. You may use a car and if you do you will want to have it covered.

Thank you so much for that. After midnight. signing off to go to my bed.

You need arise assessment for every place and thing you do I would say, just do a quick one saying you would use car seats door locks and would be appropriately insured etc.

I would say you don't need one if you don't have a car.

Just as I don't have a beach RA because I live 150 miles from the coast! And I wouldn't expect someone with no garden to have a garden RA. By all means write one if you do start using a car but don't give yourself unnecessary work.

I risk assess what I do. My main assessments are reviewed monthly. Any odd risks that pop up are noted in my diary/register.

I do not really want to do more paperwork than necessary.

I do 2 school runs, do you need 2 sperate risk assessment forms or would you do one to include everything?

Hi there

This site has packs available which include sample risk assessments, so you'd be able to see the sort of thing you need to include sample packs

I have one basic RA for outings which covers things like avoiding dog poo, road safety, stranger danger etc. I've added bits to it for things like going to the park, to the shops, on the train, school run etc. I review them when they need updating, eg new route somewhere or new starter.

For the home, I have a risk assessment sheet which covers everything I check indoors with five days on it, in columns. I mostly do this every day. Ofsted are very keen on this.
