Hi
Anyone know anything about these?
A parent has approached me and her DH gets them through work, apparently that means work pay £40 for every £100 they pay out on childcare.
Any advice welcome
Frankie

I'm registered though never used them. Here's their website

you register with BB - freephone number. You give mindees parent your ref number. They order their vouchers from HR each month and then give you the vouchers as payment (full or part) towards childcare given. Once you have vouchers you phone BB or use internet to get them validated, they then pay the amount into bank account you've given within 3-4 days. So you should not be out of pocket, as shouldn't take any longer than you popping to town to deposit a cheque.

i use them and they reduce my (four day a week) nursery bills of about £1,100 by about £70 a month. it would be more if my partner claimed them (ie £140), but we have not got that sorted yet. you have to do a salary sacrifice thing - (ie you get paid less, because you are getting some of yr salary in the form of a voucher, which in my case is £217 a month). some people are a bit iffy about that, but my accountant assured me there are no real downsides. all in all, a good thing.

ps - everyone in my (large) office who uses a registered nursery or proper (ie legal) nanny uses them

I think they are of benefit to employees because arent they tax exempt therefore you gain by way of a tax break.

ThePrisoner · 31/01/2006 18:16

frankieb - they are all above board, no con involved!!

I get paid by all my parents with bb vouchers, and have not had any real problems,

Just had a look through the site and am confused by the wtc ctc bit. Does it mean that effectively you end up with more tax credit because the amount of pay you bring home is less. So you gain both ways really in that you pay less tax and get more tax credits or have I got that completly wrong.
