cache level 3 CYPW - has anyone studied for this?

Does anyone have any experience of the cache level 3 diploma for the children and young peoples workforce?
MNT have started offering it as a distance learning course and I am considering registering.
I've worked as a nanny for years but only have NVQ level two, was thinking this might give me more options to apply for different child care jobs.

I am just coming to the end of this course now (but not through MNT).

I'm on my 2nd module through MNT. It's taking me forever as I had trouble actually sitting down to do the work but module one was ridiculously easy, a lot of common sense. Module 2 is really interesting me so far though! More child dev related.

The only problem with MNT is that they use an online database which you can't format your work with, and it's a pain in the arse as I feel bad for sending my tutor a block of text! How they read through walls of text I don't know! I'm currently struggling with my sequence of development from 0-19years piece as it's 15 pages long at the moment Blush Trying to make it significantly shorter, but it was 30 pages earlier today! That was fully formatted with line spaces and headers though. I got carried away with my research.

They seem good at making allowances and having ways around the bits nannies usually wouldn't do in practice (full EYFS records and Risk Assessment type bits) and my tutor spent a long time with me at our Mod1 meeting talking through RAs and EYFS instead of her seeing any records.

nannyR didn't you say in a previous post that you were overseas?

NannyR · 05/03/2012 08:48

Yes, I'm in Luxembourg. I've been in touch with MNT and apparently it's possible to do the theory part of the modules, then come back to the UK for two to three weeks and do the practical assessment part in a nursery placement that they can arrange.

Childcare Company in Langley, Berkshire do this course on computer. I have just finished mine and it was very good.

I'm just finishing this through our local college, found it pretty interesting actually.

There is a fantastic text book to go with it and the modules are quite varied.
