Depends on what area you live. In my area, we charge between £3.50 - £5 an hour.

Another vote from me for it being a good idea - I've often minded children for parents who need a break, for whatever reason. Given your circumstances, do you think you'd be eligible for any kind of financial help?

Rates in my area aren't as low as £2.00/hour either, more likely between £2.75 (very low) to £3.50/£3.75.
