Best time of day to call childminder?

What's the best time of day to call a childminder? I was thinking that in the day is not good as has mindees and after work (say 7pm) would be impacting on the precious family time they get?

Any thoughts?

I get a mixture if I am busy I just ask caller to call back and tell them when. Afternoons good for me before half two as most of my mindees sleep.

Afternoon between 2-2.40 good for me Smile

An e-mail would be good for me, it will enable me to send you all my information. To call as above or early evening 6.30 - 7,30pm.

I prefer after 6pm or an email in the day. Can only check emails between 12:20-2:30pm.

As long as it's not too late , (after 8pm) then I don't mind. I have an answering machine if it's not a good moment but I don't mind a short call in the day. Ie don't expect a 20min discussion on the ins and outs of your needs. :)

Anytime after 6 and before 10 pm haha. Seriously though when there is not much work, any phone call is welcome sometimes. Email is probably easier sometimes as you can ask what hours and days are available and the childminder can either ring back or email.

Its the ones who cancel at very last minute without even visiting I think are a bit rude. We work long hours, clean up the house to make it look presentable with all our insurance documents etc out for prospective parents to see then they cancel.

Please parents, if you say you are going to visit please don't just drop us at last minute, it is quite a downer when we cannot fill places due to lack of jobs in the area.

definitely wouldn't do that, i run a nursery and missed visits drive me mad! will start calling them soon but have a poorly ds2 so bit stressed at moment.

In the day if it's not convenient I just don't answer the phone and ask for a message to be left - usually I'd then call back once I finish work (which was around 5pm before Maternity Leave started)

I do prefer email as a first contact though, mainly because I can reply with attachments such as my policies and my parent handbook, which means that prospective parents can get a good idea of how I work before we get down to the finer points.
