Would I be unreasonable to ask my employer to pay my bank charges as they haven't paid me on time ( they said it was being sorted last Monday) and I have standing orders which come out today that my funds will not cover.
I can't decide what is right hence asking here.

I would say so, yes. If it's their mistake that led to you incurring the charges, I think it's reasonable to hold them responsible. It might focus their mind next time!

This happened to my partner with his rent - he transferred late, and the guy he sublets from got charged £10 for going overdrawn. There was no question of C not paying him back for it as it was his oversight that caused it!

Oh I mean - I would say it's right. YANBU ;)
