Tomorrow DD will be at the CM all day and 4yo DS will be being picked up by her after school. I have an interview and haven't seen much of the DC recently, so if it finishes early am thinking I will go and collect DS from school and get DD then as well. Would that just be messing with her plans? Or would you think "lovely - two children I don't have to entertain and a bit of family time"? I don't want to say anything in the morning as it'll probably go on past that anyway and then I'll come back here and mess around on MN until 5.40

I might be being naive but we asked her to drop the DCs off a little whil ago when DH had broken his leg and I was away. He could just about manage to look after them but couldn't drive. I offered to pay her, but she refused. I said that as she would have them all in the car at school pick up time she might find it easier just to do it then, and made it clear that DH would be expecting them any time from then. She said she;d see what the children wanted to do, anf on both occassions she took them back to hers to play until 6!

If you are reading this I am quite Blush but you are brilliant!

She'll be getting rid of two kids early on a Friday I'd guess she'll be GrinGrin

NickNacks · 26/01/2012 23:14

Yes although please tell her before she leaves the house on case yours are the only ones she's leaving to collect.

StealthPolarBear · 26/01/2012 23:15

Well that would be my thought too!
Don't suppose she'll be going anywhere after school, it's dark at 4

NN it won't be, her DDs are at the school

Please tell her though as I have my own 2 children at school and a fluke day (after school meeting and one for tea at a friends house) meant I didn't need to collect mine or two other mindees so I left to get the remaining one only to find dad waiting in the playground. Dragging 3 babies out in the cold I was less than impressed.

StealthPolarBear · 26/01/2012 23:22

OK I will do, ou have convinced me!

I'll know by 2.45 so can call her then. I would imagine I will still be in my interview or on my way back

Good luck with the interview!

StealthPolarBear · 26/01/2012 23:28

Oh there are plenty of times I finish work early-ish and don't :) But atm I'm really missing them. Chances are I will be too late, but it would be nice. Thanks for the good luck :)

Like others have said. It is great to finish early on a Friday, but please do let her know asap if you are doing the school run.

kellykateneedsaholiday · 27/01/2012 11:35

Like the others have said, and good luck. Grin

BoysAreLikeDogs · 27/01/2012 11:39

YEs, do let her know, and bless you, aren't you lovely [heart]

StealthPolarBear · 27/01/2012 18:33

Well that plan didnt happen. I eneded up having an interview at 3.20 anyway. Never mind, I have the weekend. Didn't get the job but had started to realise it wasn't for me, and got very positive feedback, including being told to let that director know if I apply to any other depts, and he'll recommend me! So a very good outcome as it's a big organisation and I seem to apply there every couple of months.

The lady I mind for regularly contacts me to ask if she can pick her baby up early, and I don't mind. She understands that if we are out and about it won't be possible, but if we are in it's fine x
