Childminder club : DS struggling with sharing

DS is 2.4. My new mindee (21 months) is into her third week now and things are going well but DS seems to have a real issue sharing.

Anything she touches he is kicking off about "I dont want X to have it" and sometimes grabbing said thing from her.

It was really wearing today as a) I was having an ofsted inspection and b) it just went on and on all day.

He isnt like this with his sister or other friends.

Any advice?

I used to say to mine if they had something special that they didnt want anyone else to have they should leave it in their rooms although they were older than yours and it worked fine.

I would agree about keeping some of his toys in his bedroom. Could you ask him which toys he would be allow to be played with? Perhaps the mindee could bring a couple of toys from home so that they can both learn all about sharing!

Failing that, take them both to the toy shop and spend all your profits on loads more stuff.

arrrghghghg have just had a terrible day with DS and the little mindee I posted about on this thread last week.

Im exhausted and stressed by it and disappointed in him if Im honest. EVen thought he is only 2.5.

He even pushed her off a chair today and she bumped her head, have felt terrible ever since even thinking that maybe childminding isnt right for me if DS cant accept teh new children.

PR - don't worry too much, I've had a nightmare with ds but he's getting better (should hope so after 7 months ). Today has been horrible for some reason but I think that's more to do with them being under the weather. I'm sure now you're starting to mind more often, he'll adjust quicker?

Feel free to moan via msn any time! We could share stories!
