becoming ofsted registered as a nanny - does dd need personal liability insurance?

Yes it is needed.

Morton Michel is who I have been using for many years.
NannyInsure is another provider, though I've not used them.

NCMA is another provider, though I think insurance is only available with Membership.

Cost varies... £59 to £90 seems to be the price band. Some providers may provide more than one level of cover. Some providers may also provide other insurance such as Personal Possessions cover (for Live-in Nannies).

Various discounts may be available, for example a nanny who is a member of BAPN can get discount on Morton Michel insurance.
