Congrats on your son being offered a place, great news. I'd speak to the school directly as well. Some local cab companies have specific contracts with schools for this purpose, or your own local firm may offer a regular driver.

The worst a CM can say to you is No! So ask around. Your local authority would be able to give you a list of local CMs who have availability.

Hope you find someone. Good luck!

I second speaking to the council too, as they may help with transport.

Worth asking a small local taxi firm too- they might give you a better rate if it was a regular thing & you could explain the situation and take your DS to meet the driver so he knew them. There are ladies only cab firms too if you/your DS would be more comfortable with them.

A chum of mine has 3 SN kids that do this and they have no problems, the firm are brilliant at always giving them the same driver,or alerting my friend if there is a cover one so she can prepare the kids of go with them as a one-off.

Good luck!

Blimey-expensive taxi!! Well worth an ask I s'pose.

Maybe the two of you going on public transport will start a new routine that might be quite reassuring for you both & who knows he may get to the point where he can take himself off? Smile

Can you fit it in around your mindees?
