Dear nannies&parents,

In January I will start my new job. During the day I will have some time for myself when the baby is asleep. I would like to study for a qualification in childcare by distance learning. That way I will benefit from it as well as the parents (well, sort of). I don't have any qualification in childcare yet and nannying is not the career I want to do forever although I love what I do at the moment. I will start my Banking and Finance degree in October (Distance Learning as well, so will stay with the family.)

There are so many distance learning providers for childcare, but which one is good and which course shall I choose? Childcare? Child development?

Would be great if someone has some experience and could help.

The level 3 CYPW is the new Level 3 childcare qualification for all practitioners in the Early Years workforce which confers occupational competence in early years and home-based settings, replacing all previous qualifications such as NVQ's etc (this includes nursery nurse training / nursery nurse qualifications among others)

The 'new' level 3 CYPW is the course to do.

I am doing the new level 3 diploma, it is hard work but well worth doing. You will need to set aside a fair amount of time to get everything completed though
