Nanny share - best way to find one?

We're moving from London to Bristol in January. I will (hopefully) be returning to work in April and need to sort out childcare for my 7.5 mo DS.

I am very keen on a nanny share as he's a nosy bugger inquisitive little chap and seems to enjoy being around other children. Also, he's the first amongst friends and family and so I think it'll be good (developmentally) for him to be around other, bigger children. Also, I am choosing nanny vs. nursery or childminder as I have a long commute which could bugger up what time I get home.

But where's the best place to look? I have advertised on Netmums, but only got sole charge replies so far. Agencies tend to focus also on sole charge too.

Or is it simply going to be a case of being a massive keener when I get down there and aiming to meet as many mums as humanely possible!? How long before going back to work should I give myself?

Thanks in advance. x

Think you need to try to find other parents in the area to which you are moving who you can get to know and who are also considering a nannyshare.

Possibly try using sites like Childcare.co.uk (linked to advance search limited to Nanny Share) - modify the postcode to that of your new home. If needed, Streetmap.co.uk will produce a postcode from a map point.
NannyShare.co.uk - though looking at it, there are not many listed in Bristol area.

nannyshare.co.uk is good. It might be worth advertising for a family first in your local area looking to share, and then start looking for a nanny together. I found my first share job in this way - they advertised the job on gumtree together. Since then i have searched for 'replacement' share families when one family left the arrangement, and had success through nannyshare.co.uk.
