Anything to do with the children, and returning common areas that have been used during the day to the pristine condition in which the nanny found them on arriving at work in the morning!

She may also agree to receiving internet grocery deliveries, dropping off and picking up dry cleaning, going to the PO and other small family errands that fit in with her other duties.

ditto, I'm a nanny/housekeeper so my role is more expansive

Everything around the children - including children's laundry & ironing, cleaning up house of children's toys or any mess they make, making children's beds, keeping their bedrooms & bathrooms tidy, picking up groceries for them if needed, cleaning up kitchen after cooking for children and themselves, ours also helps empty the dishwasher as full of her/kids' dishes. She might also agree to other things if you discuss with her in advance.

"condition in which the nanny found them on arriving at work" - to do that some of us nannies would have to make a mess just before leaving work.

General duties:
load/unload dishwasher
Children's laundry
Making lunch for children and nanny

I only have Childcare duties in my job BUT I wash, dry and fold all of the families washing, change children's, parents and guest room bed linen. Wash towels, empty and reload dishwasher. Put away shopping. Collect any supplies needed. Post letters and collect parcels and dry cleaning etc. I do all of this to help the parents and am happy to do it because I'm a kind person!!!!!

All housework and laundry to do with the children. Which as DH and I work full time is 90% of the housework! We do have a cleaner for 2 hours per week to do bathrooms, deep clean, our ironing.

Typical domestic stuff she does includes changing kids beds, washing, drying, ironing, putting away their clothes, cleaning up common areas, tidying and cleaning toys, cleaning kitchen after cooking for kids, hoovering up play areas (living room), tidying garden at end of day, drying towels after bathtime, tidying bathroom of kids' stuff.

Our nanny is very sweet though, and would never churlishly stick to her duties (ie will unload dishwasher even if some of stuff in there was mine and DHs). She is also great at receiving deliveries, being in for workmen, and helping out with the dog (feeding and sometimes walking him).

Our house is far cleaner, tidier and more organised since I went back to work and our nanny started. She is a godsend - and we treat and pay her as such!

Depends on he rpay. But generally only light housework related to the children, i.e making their beds, making them lunch and cleaning that up. Obviously maing sure the place is left as she found it, which means if as a fmaily you make a mess you have to tidy that up.

Mostly parents say 'nursery duties', meaning everything to do with the children. But every job I've had has been different in that, for example some jobs say I have to clean the kids bathroom, some not. Some say it includes hoovering the kids room, for most the laundry duties include ironing but occasionally not. Its best to be clear what you expect and try not to add things without discussing it- one family decided a few weeks in that I had to clean the cat's litter tray every day which I had to say no to.

The dishwasher is a usual thing, I just do it as needed. Doesn't matter to me if the parents things are in there too! I do however really resent having to sort through the family's laundry to get the kids things, I hate having to paw through the parents underwear! Receiving parcels and groceries is part of the job, as is being there for workmen. I've offered to take/pickup dry cleaning but it hasn't been needed.
