Babysitting on New Year's Eve

My friend asked me if I want to babysit for a family on New Year's Eve.
I wonder much do nannies charge/parents pay for babysitting on such days as Christmas Eve/Day or New Year's Eve/Day?

I guess it depends on what part of the country you are in.

Sitters pay their babysitters 10 pounds per hour on NYE (this is the sw area).

I live in west London and work in south-west (Balham)

I charge £10 to £12 per hour normally and £20 per hr on new years eve with a minimum of 5 hours but thats in a hotel, I would charge a bit less for a local family, I'm in the cotswolds usually sitting for londoners escaping for the weekend.

I work in Balham too! I charge £20ph for NYE if I know the family (ie, have sat for them before and know the kids) and £25ph for people I don't know.

As I dont really want to babysit new years eve I charge triple my rates and if families are willing to pay that then its worth my while going - have only ever done so for regular families.
