The lady (and i use the term loosely) who begged me to keep her a place signed the contract and decided the job she had started wasnt for her on day 1 is doing the rounds again.
She never paid me the money she owed me in the end and told me to take her to court for it and tempted as i was it wasnt an option nor did she thank me for letting it go and in the end i resigned.
I heard yesterday she had gone to see a childminder in our area as she is yet again in employment(this week anyway!) I really hope it isnt one of my childminder friends they deserve far far better.

I know it may be unprofessional but i would be tempted to tell the other childminder if you know her.The "lady" in question should not be allowed to get away with it!!! You can tell it's happened to me too eh? I think some of them do it to claim the WFTC,i had the WFTC on the phone a year after the parent dumped me without paying asking did i provide care for x between certain dates? It was great to land her in it and say no she only came for 3 days.

why not pursue it through small claims court?

in my opion this lady "stole" from you, and she needs to be shown that that is NOT how to behave!

I did take some advice on the matter and was told that yes sc could deal with it but because of her circumstances (single parent) she could pay me at a vastly reduced rate weekly. She is married but the father of all 3 of her children lives in a seperate house and they are not splitting up or anything but just like their own space(at the taxpayers expense!)
A quick look on the cis site shows that everyone who can collect from our school is-
2 newly registered childminders
2 others that i know and are full
so all i can think is it must be one of the new ones.

sorry but I'd make sure the newie knew what this person is like.

ThePrisoner · 10/01/2006 18:39

Is this the lady that signed contracts but didn't get the job (so the child didn't start in the first place)?

joanna4 · 10/01/2006 20:39

yep i wouldnt be so bothered had she not started but i had passed over someone else with a baby the same day.
I cant directly say anything cos the childminder picks the kids up at the school where i work and i am worried mum would kick off over it.Even the lone parent advisor who deals with her said to me she was her most difficult parent and thought world owed her a living.

Had to laugh today I was placed into her daughters class as their assigned sna was off and the kids i am there for were off so it made sense to utilise. Anyway we are on about friends who we know in and out of school and she piped up that I was a friend of her mummys.I held my tongue well.
The woman is using one off the new childminders and she is already causing payment problems I have heard from the minders friend.
