Interview on Sunday - How much shall I tell?

Hi,

I have an interview in London on Sunday for a permanent live-in position looking after one boy, who will be eight months when I start. I've made some bad experience with families in the last year (Two to be exact) and changed jobs again. How much should I tell the family e.g how much shall I go into details about why I changed jobs? Is it better to be honest or shall I not tell the whole truth? One Nanny Agency Consultant said to me once, that I shall not talk bad about previous employers as it makes a bad impression the the familys.

Current Family I

Current Family II

Previous Family

Thanks, Nadine

they sound like a nightmare but TBH I'd remain professional. as the more recent nightmare has related to a family in Belgium could you say you liked the idea of working abroad but then realised you missed the UK too much or something similar.... good luck

The Previous Family was really only accommodation and not your actual job, so no need to mention it at all.

The Belgium family was part time, you have a different 3 day a week reference there. Mention them, but don't go into detail unless asked. Don't criticise them, just say "The family and I just didn't click, working with children is a such a personal thing, isn't it? I do think they were looking for more of a housekeeper role actually, which is probably why."

Good luck!
