please help, I have 2 prospective mindees who need care from 6:45 -8:45am including drop offs to two different schools. I have an hourly rate of £4. Should I charge a premium for unsocial hours and should I give a sibling discount?

How does it fit with other children you currently mind? How would it fit in say a years time, 2 years time? (consider what existing mindees may be needing in term of school drop off - likely to be same schools?)

I've already weighed up the pros and cons of the job, I'm just not sure what to charge as I've not done antisocial hours or siblings before, but thanks for the response.

I only give a discount if there are 3 or more siblings requiring care. I charge £1.25 per hour extra for before 8am or for after 6pm.

Not a childminder but from a business point of view I would charge quite a hefty amount for unsocial hours but then also give a good discount for siblings if you think they are going to be relatively ''easy'' charges.

I'm sort of thinking that by combining the unsocial higher rate and the sibling discount I just end up backat my normal rate!!! So have therefore answered my own question!
Thanks for ŷour thoughts

Not really - I would charge say £6 hour unsocial rate but give say 25% discount so you would still earn more but the parents would feel good about the discount
