Can someone point me in the direction of a Health and Safety policy. Its not for the children but for the assistants I employ, also the relevant health and safety legislation for employers. Also, seems I need a risk assessment for employees. Beginning to wonder if its worth it!

I don't know if you are a childminder - but if you are then the Bromley Childminding Association have loads of policies on their website. www.bromleycma.org.uk/policies/policies_and_procedures.html

Hope this is a good starting point for you

Thanks. Yes I am a childminder who employs assistants. I will have a look at what they have but I think they may be more child related them employmnet related.

To fulfil the minimum requirements, download the template from Business Link, download the leaflet from the HSE and give it to each of your assistants (a good idea to keep a record of this on an induction sheet).

Note that you don't have to record the risk assessment part of the H&S policy document if you have fewer than five employees.
