hi
Parents and CM what do you pay/charge for part hours? Care is 8-6pm.
School starts at 8.50 and ends at 3.35.
Do you charge 50 mins and 25 mins of the part hours? Do you round up every day or across a week?

I have a term-time school hours contract with a CM who picks up the baby at the school gate in the morning (from our au pair) and brings him back to the gate when AP picks up the big kids from school.

CM picks up at 8:50 and returns him at 3:15. She just charges me from 9:00 to 3:00. 'tis much appreciated. Grin

She even does hospital runs when one of the biggies had to go in an ambulance. And didn't charge me a penny. This was well after her contracted hours. I love her!!

well he hasnt started yet, but I have both out of school clubs and a CM sorted for DS when he starts school in September. He will have those same hours 8-6.

Both types of childcare charge per 'session'.

OOS club is more flexible in that it charges for 3 types of afternoon session (3.30-4.30, 3.30 - 5.30 and 3.30 - 6 I think it is) and one type of morning session (8-8.50). For me that would be £3 in the morning and £6 in the afternoon for the longest session.

The childminder just does morning (8-8.50) and afternoon (3.30 - 6) sessions regardless of when you collect your child. I think this is reasonable as other CM have said - she is in great demand so it doesnt make sense for her to do shorter sessions. You can pay for extra food if you want to but snacks are included as are school pickups. She charges £6 in the morning and £12 for the afternoon. (Which is why I have him in as many OOS sessions as I could get - because it costs half as much!)

I used to have a child that wanted 15 minutes care in the morning before school run and half hour care in the evening after school run. I charged £10 a morning and £10 an afternoon as couldn't take another child on because of that child taking up a space. In the holidays I charged my hourly rate from 8.30-4.30 as that is when the parents wanted care. hth

My cm charged by the half hour and rounded up.
