Well, I finally got the call - w/c 12th December!!! Now nervous!! Got nothing to hide so why do I feel sick about it??? - presume you were all the same for your first??? It's the thought of someone watching me all the time. My main concern is actually my own ds's behaviour!

Anyway, any tips would be GREAT Jellyjelly has already been helping me but you can never have too much advice

I can so relate to that about your ds lol. This job would be a whole lot easier if I wasn't daily pushed to the my motherly limits by my ds (31/2)!!
Get your b23 stuff organised and just be yourself. Good luck!

Not sure what advice to give you, I had a call from my mentor this morning as OFSTED will be looking for your insurance and registration certificate to be on show during working hours, I had already had my inspection and OFSTED did mention this as i kept them in my portfolio.
Make sure you have activities/meals organised beforehand for that week which you probably do anyway,i'm probably not being much help by telling you the obvious my brain is not working t the mo prob because i am stressing about the dental appt i have shortly lol, good luck and if i think of anything i will post it

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 02/12/2005 14:31

i was so worried about my DS's behaviour too, but all was fine, which it will be for you too

Icemum · 02/12/2005 14:35

Don't worry about your DS behaviour. My DD3 decided that it would be a good idea to get undressed and walk around naked during my inspection. Also had my 2 eldest DDs around who contradict a few things that I said!

Thanks guys, been working on Birth to Three anyway but will make sure this is 100% sorted! My ds is 2.8 and is my problem - I've actually just got them both (ds and mindee) into pre-school starting from January , went up there this morning! This will do ds the world of good (I hope) and it's for 3 hours 2 mornings a week

puppy - glad you mentioned the insurance, I thought it was just the registration certificate that needed to be displayed ???!!!

Icemum · 02/12/2005 14:41

I thought that too H but other businesses (sp) have to display insurance certs so it wouldn't do any harm.

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 02/12/2005 14:41

I thought it was just registration too helly, but they have received information regarding it recently and my mentor was ringing around to makesure everybody knew which was nice of her, too late for me though i had my inspection a couple of months ago but i got a good grade anyway which i am over the moon about.

HellyBelly · 02/12/2005 14:56

Hellybelly - As you kow I had mine quite recently and the only thing I can think of right now is to make sure that your fire blanket is out of the original packaging ie the cellophane!! and to be yourself. I'm not divulging any more!!

HellyBelly · 02/12/2005 15:21

Cheers My fire blanket is on the wall in the kitchen with those dangly bits ready to be pulled if needed - is that right?

Oh, just had another thought, should I put off putting our tree up until after the inspection? It's a big tree and takes up space and we're going to have to remove an arm chair and shift the toy draws so the room will look smaller. Could just put paper tree up and make xmas decorations to stick on it like suggested in another thread.

Reckon that would be better - for inspector to see the space as I normally have it?

Tan1959 · 02/12/2005 16:57

Yes, I think that I would do the same Helly, keep room as it is until after inspection; paper tree good idea too...

HellyBelly · 02/12/2005 16:59

Cheers - dh will be pleased as I was getting excited for the kids and was trying to get it up earlier but this way, he gets his own way

It does make sense as I don't have a very big house

Thanks
