katymac · 19/11/2005 19:15

As you know I childmind lots of children with 3 other minders.

I have damaged my back with all the buggy pushing and need 1, probably 2 and maybe even 3 new double or triple buggies.

The priority is that they must be easy to push and easy to fold

It is really important as I am in so much pain that they are easy to push

Please, Please help........

My childminder has an Emmaljunga one, easy to push. Not sure about folding. Not good if you need to get it into a car boot I would imagine.

Hi,

I have 3 under 3s to care for (1 being my own). I have purchased a Jane Powertwin which is a joy to push, although not cheap! I bought mine from e-bay and it is almost new. Only problem with it is, like a lot of others, it is heavy to put in and out of car-although very light to push. I am going to buy another double pushchair to keep in car as I cannot have all seven seats up in Zafira with Jane unless I remove wheels-which I don't really want to do. The pushchair I am gong to buy for car is Mamas and Papas twin aria as it will fit between the row of seats and still have room for children. This pushchair is incredibly light at 7kg (I think).

Lisanmark are selling one on MN - do you think it's a good one?

I use a Mothercare double buggy for my mindees. I bought it from a pal and its great , really light to push, can be steered really well with one hand (whilst the other is holding onto a child!) and folds easily as well.

katymac · 19/11/2005 22:49

hich one is it Saltire?

katymac I've got a twin aria like the one lisanmark are selling and its great. I've had a 20mth old and a 26mth old in it and was very surprised at how easy it was to push. It folds up easily and is really light. Hth

katymac · 19/11/2005 22:58

Thanks Irkids - that's what I need to know

The best thing I've ever bought for childminding is a twin 3 wheeler Urban Detour from Mothercare. I don't take it in the car (I have a double McLaren for that), but it is SO easy to push. My 8 year old mindee has no [problem pushing it to school every day!). It is very easy to push and steer one handed too. Mine even has a third seat on the front! You get plenty of them on ebay. If I was buying another I would look for the later model with plastic wheels as I store mine in the carport - the spokes are rusting. Good luck in your quest!

katymac · 20/11/2005 17:20

I'm looking at one of those too

I have just bought a Kidz Kargo one - I hope it's OK I'm buying Lisanmark's M&P Twin Aria and might buy the Urban detour too

OMG so much money

I have just bought second hand but new kidz kargo double buggy. Having a nightmare with it. Wheels falling off, can't get brake to work at all.

Can anyone help? Could anyone post a instuction manual to me??? Help

Starberries · 15/04/2010 21:54

I also use an older Mothercare Detour-type buggy and it is a JOY! We also have a maclaren twin techno which I hate. I can get the Mothercare beast (we call it the 'Volvo') on the bus, the handlebar sticks out a bit but it fits in the space, I love it - and my boss got it for £5 at a car boot sale!!

onadietcokebreak · 15/04/2010 21:56

Isnt the babyjogger city mini double meant to be fab? Maybe try posting on the twins part of forum?

nannyl · 16/04/2010 08:11

try nipper 360 or mountain buggy double... both of which almost push themselves!

Shoshe · 16/04/2010 08:14

Another one with an Aria ( I also have a Marco Sky for town use).

Fits in the boot with the single Aria ( I can also clip the two Aria's together and make a triple.)

littleducks · 16/04/2010 08:15

I wouldnt buy a M&P Aria, my sil had one and it was a nightmare to push.

Either go for huge wheels, like the mothercare urban detour one or something like a mountain buggy

joeypotter · 16/04/2010 10:37

another recommendation for the nipper 360 from me. i love it, very light to push and folds up easily, doesn't take up much space.

navyeyelasH · 16/04/2010 20:06

I'm a buggy freak and I'd say nipper 360 every time wins hands down.

I can push with one hand whilst holding onto a walking child. Aria is like a car without power steering and nipper is the car with power steering!

nannyl · 18/04/2010 09:01

have also pushed an aria as well as a nipper 360 and agree with navyeyelasH

nipper just SOOO much easier

raindroprhyme · 18/04/2010 15:04

i would say nipper or if you can afford it the mountain buggy. If you have a bad back i would not spare teh expense and go for teh mountain. Dead easy to push and will last forever
