CM Club: I need a sort of folding baby trap, type thing

A have a child who is very active. I need to contain this child during snack (which we have on the floor not at a table)

Currently we are using a sort of baby activity bouncy thing; which is fine but it doesn't fold up & it's made of cloth so it's tricky to clean. Could anyone link to something containing and confining but folding.

Many thanks

how about something like this - a little on the expensive side though www.designsforeducation.co.uk/tables-chairs/low-highchair.aspx?lt=1

Katy, how about a low height high chair...although may be tricky to find a folding one.

You could also use a baby walker with the wheels off?? It would wipe clean and fold flat.

Can't think of anything else

something like this?

doesn't go very small, but isn't HUGE

thisisyesterday · 17/05/2011 14:40

how old is child? maybe something like this would do the trick?

or a bumbo seat with tray?

KatyMac · 17/05/2011 14:42

Maybe a baby walker without wheels or the horrendously expensive stunningly beautiful one Coral suggested or the convertible high chair?

Sorry to be indecisive but it does need to fold flat/small; I wondered about a bath seat maybe?

We've been using one like this since ds2 was around 9 months, he's still fine in it now at 18 months. Ds1 used it without the tray but pushed up to a low table until he was 4. Doesn't take too long to put together either.

KatyMac · 17/05/2011 14:51

Is the booster stable on the floor?

I have 9 of them so that's a cheap idea; I'll try tomorrow

Lol @ trap btw - maybe best if you don't let the parents hear you mention that one Wink

KatyMac · 17/05/2011 14:52

Oh I like the wooden one

COCKadoodledooo · 17/05/2011 14:52

The Tomy wooden one is absolutely fine on the floor.

KatyMac · 17/05/2011 14:53

pookamoo · 17/05/2011 16:09

We have the Tomy one, it's great and should be fine on the floor. DD uses it as a booster at the table without the tray now.

KatyMac · 17/05/2011 16:59

Thanks I'll try my tomy one tomorrow

I have 3 of these www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10751&langId=-1&productId=119919&source=froogle&cm_mmc=Froogle--Shopping%20Sites--CPC-_-Froogle and they are brilliant! They can be used with or without the tray and fold flat in a storage bag. All the padding can be pt in the washing machine and I hose down the rest at the weekend!

mrsthomsontobe · 17/05/2011 23:37

Alibubbles- does thy sit ok on the floor or does it have to go on a chair. Looks great I've just moved and don't have much room for high chair so would be ideal

alibubbles · 18/05/2011 09:33

I use them on the floor freestanding, but they do attach to a chair too with a strap and clasp like the handysits, which I used to have, but these are better as you can sit on the floor with a child and feed them etc.

They are really light and fold up to 4 " wide, I have three stacked on a shelf in my laundry room, or they hang in the strong canvas bag that is supplied. Shop around or look on ebay, I got mine for about £40 each

alibubbles · 18/05/2011 09:38

It says from 2 years up! I have been using them for the babies as I didn't want large highchairs, they are find and quite snug for littles and they don't slip forward as they tend to i ordinary highchairs unless you wedge them in!

thisisyesterday · 18/05/2011 15:53

i spotted a big pile of these in tk maxx today. they were £25 I think

KatyMac · 18/05/2011 21:14

The big blue plastic one was a hit

I pt it on the floor & the child was in it before I could put it in the right place Grin

Lateral thinking at it's best
