CM Club: would I be unreasonable to ask mum to dress child in long sleeved top...

because he has molluscom? I know that it is relatively harmless and quite common, but to prevent cross infection, the advice is to cover up.

So would I be offending or upsetting her or unreasonable if I ask her to have her DS wear long sleeved tops to my setting?

Thanks.

Not sure if it would be any different for a childminder but as a nursery we did ask the mum and she was fine with that.

I asked the mum this afternoon to put her DS in long sleeved tops and she was fine and lovely about it! Smile I did not want to upset her and that is what got me worried. Thanks, Dribbleface.

Glad she was lovely about it :) As a parent, I'd be fine with my cm saying that (I'd hope that I would have thought of it myself, though). Additionally as a parent, I'd be very keen for other children to have it covered to minimize the risk of spreading it to my DS Blush

HavePatience, yes, I was concerned about the othe children and my own DS. If we are not concerned about our own kids, then who will be? No need to be Blush! Smile

My ds1 has this at the moment but thank god it's on his tummy area and not that bad. I've told him he has to wear a tshirt in our bed (sometimes watches tv in there) whether he's warm or not as I don't want it spreading. He did, however, have one bit on his face when he was a toddler and there wasn't really much I could do about it. He's now 8 and still has a scar from it! As they can have it a couple of years, I'df say that if it's not too bad and it gets too hot, maybe popping plasters on in the day would be better? But you were definitely right to ask and I'm pleased she was ok :)
