Going for a job which is mon- fri, in a school. 8,40 - 3.15, teaching assistant, band 2.12. £8.08 per hour. Pro rata.

Then she mentioned i would work 44 weeks.

Baffles me how much it would work out??
she said i would be paid in the holidays.

Probably need a bit more info before I can work out what you would get paid but 8.40am-3.15pm is 6 hours 35 minutes if you are paid all of this (ie no time deducted for breaks/lunch) then you will get £53.19 per day which will be £265.96 per week. If you are paid for 44 weeks but it is split equally over the 12 months then you will get about £975 per month

Eek not too great on the tax bit but if you pay standard 20% (I think) tax then it would be roughly £212 per week but you would also have NI to consider as well and I'm not sure what the percentage is for that.

The reason I said about a bit more info was I wasn't sure if you would get paid for all the hours or if you get time deducted for breaks (I work 9-5 but have an hour taken off for lunch) and when you said about working 44 weeks but getting paid during hols, I wasn't sure if that meant you would get paid for 52 weeks or if you get paid 44 weeks but split equally over 52

Pinkx3's figure of £975 a month looks right to me, this should be about £198pw after tax and NI, assuming there is no pension scheme etc.

this calculator helps.
