Above & beyond childcare nanny expectation setting...

So I've been posting a lot basically because dh and i don't agree on our nanny expectations:

Is it reasonable to include:

cleaning the house
shirt ironing (while ds1 naps)
picking up packages

I would agree if we were employing a live-in nanny but what is the max live-out nannies expect to do? Or sign up to contractually?

I have always ironed while the children nap,and as they get older they are able to occupy themselves either in the playroom or an art activity or TV while I iron.I pick up packages and pop letters in the post ,and I will pick up odd items of shopping.I am not a cleaner ,but a nanny should be expected to keep areas where she and the children have been tidyIf we have been glittering, sticking I will tidy up /hoover after.I know many nannies who will only iron the children`s clothes

If i were a nanny (which i am not currently) i would not be cleaning the house, or ironing shirts, i would not mind picking up packages though. I would clean up after the child/children and do their washing, i think an aupair would do all that is listed above though.

completely unreasonable to include cleaning the house, ironing other than the children's, and tbh I'm not sure about what the collecting of packages might entail, but that sort of thing most nannies will do as a favour if they can, but they won't cancel an outing or a playdate for it.

You want a nanny/housekeeper/PA by the looks of it.

Our nannies have always laundered and ironed the childrens' clothes and hoovered their room, changes their beds etc. Nannies don't clean the house or iron adults clothes (although some may agree to do this for extra money). I sometimes ask our nanny to stay in to sign for deliveries but not to go and pick them up.

I'm a nanny, and to be honest, I don't clean or do any of my employers ironing, just childrens rooms and childrens laundry. I didn't do two years of college and amass 17 years of experience to scrub someone elses bath and iron shirts.

As for collecting packages, if i'm on my way out or had no other plans I'd happily go for them, but certainly wouldn't cancel playdates etc to go for them, same with any shopping that may need doing.

As someone else said, you either need a au pair or a housekeeper.
