Please can you tell me what you expect to pay a maturnity nanny in the SW London area?

What duites would you expect them to carry out?

I think my friend paid around £600 per week.

For that the mat nanny did whatever work was required for the baby 24 hours a day (so got up in the night to baby and looked after it during the day when needed) 6 days a week.

My friend had the babies twin in hospital all the time, so I don't know whether this was more than would usually be the case??

I think it depends on what you are wanting. If you want someone who works 24 hours, 6 days a week, with one day off, then £100-£150 a day wouldn't be unusual.

If however, you want just help at night, or help for the first few weekends, then rates get much better.

Hunting around the net, I found these sites that may help you work out what is reasonable to expect to pay for a Maternity Nanny / Night Nanny:

BabySleepThrough - Weekend package Fri 8pm to Sun 6pm, £250.
Night Nannies - £70 to £120 per night, plus agency fees
Mayfair Maternity - £550 to £900 per week

Hope that helps give some idea.

I had a maternity nurse in April and the going rate is between £650 and £850 per week. For this the maternity nurse will work 24hrs a day,6 days a week although will probably need a few hours off in the day to re-charge her batteries.

FOr me it was a Godsend-expensive but worth every penny to get over my c-section and really enjoy my baby.

Hope you dont mind me joining in the conversation -

I am a qualified maternity nanny - i usually work 24 hours a day, 6 days a week for about 6 weeks.

I charge £700 for a single baby, £900 for twins and £1200 for triplets

Hope this helps,
