Ive just read a thread and someone said they laid all their paperworl out on a table. Which paperwork would that be? Like the contracts etc?

I think I have an inspection in a couple of months but just like to be prepared!

emergency and accident book, fire book, visitor book, accounts, files, attendance records,

i always have a address book for my handbag which stays in there but they might want to know thta you have one.

I keep all my stuff in my NCMA lovely purple folder!

Funnily enough, I am just going to write all the childrens details in a book for me to keep in the car or in my bag!

I also keep a list in my first aid box with names, addresses, nok, allergies, regular medication etc.

I would get two, reason i say that is because me being a silly idiot on my first day back from holiday and without my handbag, changebag or coat and on the school run threw my car keys down the 6ft drain. I now i always have my bag and changebag no matter how short the journey, i learnt my lesson.

Do you need to show the inspectors any planning / evidence of activities you do aswell?

It seems to help with possible achiving a higher grade. Ofsted like stuff in writing.

JenumGeranium · 02/11/2005 17:10

For the next inspection i am going to have everything written down even though i have 11 pages of terms and conditions, policies etc.

JenumGeranium · 02/11/2005 18:09

Yeah, I was thinking of going through the National Standards one by one and writing down how I adhere to them.

I have my policies etc in a folder which I would think would be ok.

I think that's a good idea Genumgeranium; my experience is same as jellyjelly, Ofsted do seem to like stuff in writing. I printed out the 'Birth to Three Matters' component cards (and read it) from Surestart. The Inspector seemed to like this.

Oh blimey alibubbles - I dont really know what to do now?! I think I will stick with what I was going to do in the first place.

Surely if I go through the national standards and make sure everything there is in order should cover myself!

I also must start a fruit bowl!

I should be ok with that - I usually have an answer for everything anyway!

How do you get to see other childminders reports?
