Term-time nannies?

I'm going back to work in September and am looking for a nanny for two girls who will be 2 yrs and 7 months old by then. I teach so ideally would only need term time care. I was wondering whether nannies are willing to do this (for example, if they have their own school aged children) or if it is standard to pay for the full year? I would be interested in a nanny share but not sure how this would work if the other family wanted childcare all year round.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Definitely possible.

I currently work tt only. I think holiday pay for a tt only position works out at just under 5 weeks per year. I negotiated 6 weeks (due to being prepared to work tt only and my age & experience) so I am paid for 45 weeks per year. I am paid like a teacher, so yearly salary split into 12 monthly payments.

The other way some do it is to pay tt and negotiate a retainer for the holidays - generally half pay for the holiday weeks.

And obviously I take no holiday during tt time - unless for an important event or an emergency.

Thanks for replying nbee84!

What are the best websites etc... for finding nannies?

I've just found a job through childcare.co.uk and always check nannyjob and my local netmums
