I'm hoping some other cm's may be able to advise me if you have has experience of caring for the above ages all at once.

Im a cm and it looks as though I could end up with the above 1 day a week in 6 months time. I'm sure I can manage fine whilst at home, going to groups etc but I'm thinking about the school run. I will drive but where we park up I have to cross a quiet residential road to get to the school. I have a double buggy.

I'm thinking it should be ok with twin buggy plus one on reigns/holding hands but would be grateful to hear experiences from anyone else caring for 3 of similar ages:)

I had those ages for a while and found school runs hard. But I had only just started minding so was not as confident as I am now. I had two boys in the double buggy and then carried the little girl because she was light as a feather. However, with the weight of pushing and carrying I developed tendonitis in my achilles tendons and it was very painful!

It is doable and for on day a week, I would put up with it.

You could also try a carry thingy on your back for the 3rd child? What about a buggy board?

Hi,

I have looked after 13m, 14m and 21m for 3 days a week and did like it. However, I bought a triple buggy which was invaluable as the 21m was not a good walker.

If you can drive on school run, I'm sure it will work out fine - the 22m should be able to walk with reins/holding hands (although that may be a bit difficult when trying to control the double buggy). You could always do a trial run and if it proves too difficult would you be able to fit a buggy board onto buggy or use a buggypod?

Hope it goes well for you.

I had a triple for my lot but they were slightly younger (8m, 17m, 18m + ds2 who was in a sling). I wouldn't have been without my triple buggy. You could try the double with a buggy board/reins as it's only 1 day a week, I did find my triple very very useful though (and fits loads of stuff for the after schoolies :)

I've done it with a double buggy and reins. It's a bit slow, but ok.

If you're not in a rush then yes, I'd save your pennies and use the double. I had no choice really as always had to get back for 9.30am and it was a rush as it was due to school being in the next village. It really depends on your routine but you won't know how long it will take til you try :)

Thanks all for the replies. I'm sure it will work out. I'm fairy new to it so like n4 not as confident yet as cm's who have more experience. I'll look into a buggy board for a twin pushchair, not sure which fit though.

Good to know it's do-able!

I've had something near that age difference 3 days a week for the last year and I thought it was great. I don't do school runs though, but I did walk to toddler groups with the triple pram. As soon as the oldest one was capable of standing on the buggy board I changed to a double and board, triple pram is waaaay heavy!!

lollipopmother · 08/03/2011 22:06

By 'something near' that age group I actually mean exactly the same thinking about it!!

BigWoof · 09/03/2011 12:41

what triple buggy do you all recommend?

I am soon to have a 6m, 7m and 15 month old and need to get them around to groups etc
