I am catching up tonight ... Last one I did was end of November ... I have 4 EYFS children ... it will take me all night probably :)

I have 6 EYFS children and haven't touched anything pre-xmas, (see my post on got the call), have been trolling through photos for inspiration, but don't seem to have done anything for December at all!!!! (although I KNOW we did loads), I am now trolling through children's daily diaries to give me reminder.

OFSTED (prospect) called this afternoon, coming on Thursday...... Oh well got a bit of extra time, I feel a few late nights coming up, better get the Wine in.

Oh and oh so shockingly, she sounded really pleasant on the phone, my last inspector was lovely, isn't it mad that in my head I build up a monster.

I dutifully attempted to do all the required planning/written observations etc. when the EYFS first started. My network co-ordinator informed me that it hadn't been correctly done Sad.

I found that I was being snowed under with it all - and my network was demanding more and more paperwork too (lots of self-reflection ), none of which was related to anything Ofsted would want to see. I made the decision to leave the network, so my paperwork really went to pot (I have a pile of photos and scribbled obs, none of it collated together), but it was the right decision for me.

I made a huge effort to get to grips with it all in January, and completely "started over", and set up a totally new system from what I had done before. I have been told that Ofsted should base their comments/grading on what I currently do, and that what has gone before should not count (as I have obviously "improved" what I had done previously). Whether or not that proves correct is something I don't yet know!

I have had total support from all the parents, none of whom have ever wanted any of the EYFS information in the first place. I dutifully show them what I am doing, and they like seeing the photos, but that's all.

I have 6 EYFS children in my care (with another starting soon), and I really pride myself on offering good quality care for them all - I still resent having to give up my evenings and weekends to produce written work which no-one wants.

I'm in the same boat. I've been registered since september but apart from daily diarys, photo's and videos (policys and procedures done ages ago) I've not done anything! started to do obs this week with a couple of them.

I've looked at the photos and videos to prompt me to do the obs retrospectivly. I've been panicing because I haven't had Ofsted come yet and I want to be as ready as I can.But I haven't been motivated.

Half of me says "well if it's changing soon whats the point" but the other half "says cos you need to prove that I'm doing my job properly". I want to show that

I'm a professional Childminder. Not just a babysitter to my parents.
