Enquiring for a mate contemplating hiring a nanny.

Can anyone pls give me a rough idea of cost of hiring someone full time Mon-Fri world 8-6?
Is there anywhere th could recommend he looks?

I'm used to prices down south so no idea.

TIA

I would expect £8-£10 gross. Not that many jobs advertised online alas so hard to get a good feel for it but I would expect it's like being outside of London. Thus less than London rates but not that much less.

example of some nanny jobs

Something to keep in mind is that to be able to use Childcare Vouchers in Scotland, the nanny needs to be recruited via an agency (or hired in conjunction with agency involvement, as some will offer the registration service without doing the recruitment).

Hi, I'm nannying in Glsgow now and know me and my friends would be looking for £9 p/h, one friend just started a job getting more than that but she does less hours. I knew an ayrshire nanny who came to soft play sometimes and was earning the same as us. We are all qualified and experienced but somone younger may accept a lower hourly rate.

Where abouts in Ayrshire exactly? Further from Glasgow may be cheaper.

There aren't too many agencies up here so he would need to register with one of the Glasgow ones; A&H, Glasgow childcare Solutions or West of Scotland nanny agency

Im a nanny in Ayrshire and I would say anything between £8 - £9.50 gross per hour, depending on experience.

When would the position be likely to commence? I know a nanny who will be looking for a new position soon (current charges will be going to school). When your friend finds someone, I would be more than happy to meet up with the nanny.

Carol24, not sure when, but, cant see it being for another 5 months at least.
That would be lovely tho re get together, I know myself how it is, new job new area, not knowing anyone.

I have passed the agency details to him tho, thanks everyone.
