Nanny charge for twins in London

How much do live out day nannies charge for looking after twin babies (6 months old). I've been told it is about £80 per day - does that sound about right?

By nanny I mean qualified and experienced with babies, not just someone who is a glorified au-pair.

£80/day (nett) would be quite reasonable for that, if it's the usual kind of hours (eg 8-6 or even longer). To be honest, I'd expect it to be rather more.

ive looked after two sets of twins and i got paid the same as any other nanny who has 1,2,3 or 4 kids.

£7 to £9 per hour, nett is typical for a live-out nanny in the South East. So, £80 per day is about right, if it's roughly a 10 hour day. You can get an idea of how much that costs you as an employer by visiting a website of a nanny paye/payroll company. - they tend to have a chart that gives a general idea based on weekly nett wage.

Cost does not increase due to you having twins. I don't know any nannies who expect more money because of the number of children - unless it's a lot of children, like 5+

You sound as though you know what you are looking for, I would always suggest to parents of baby twins to look for a nanny with a formal childcare qualification, with baby experience, but not to insist on previous twin experience, as I actually find caring for twins easier, than caring for two children of different ages.
