Possible problems with nanny - a gut feeling that won't go away

I'm a name changer and having difficulties with our nanny. If you have had a nanny who didn't seem to click with your child - nothing nasty or concrete, just a lack of laughing, physical play and overt affection - what would you do? I'm concerned that our nanny is not bonding with one of my children. She has been with us for months so it is not just newness.

I'd be somewhat pickier tbh. I was under no illusions that our current nanny was a perfect match against my wishlist, but she seemed kind and I thought the relationship with the kids/choosing appropriate activities etc would follow. It hasn't.

And of course there are no guarantees, but I usually find that if I have a reservation about someone on hiring them (for a nanny or at work) the thing I worry about will often come to pass. When I hired a nanny with no reservations she was pretty much perfect. If only I'd been able to keep her!

I get what you saying_ I've heard a nanny who made me feel exactly the same way. I must say I ended up letting her go eventually. I think she's just not a perfect fit for your family and your parenting style.Wink
