Daily nanny staying overnight

I'm based in Central London with a daily nanny who works 8.30am to 7.30pm, 5 days a week. I occasionally have to travel for work during the week. I would be away for say one or two nights perhaps once a month or so.

As I'm a single mother, this means my nanny needs to stay over at my place. What do you think I should be paying her for the overnight stays? DD is 2.5 years old, goes to bed at 8pm and does not get up again until 7.30 or 8am. My nanny's hourly babysitting rate is £10/hour.

Many thanks.

I would probably offer to pay hourly rate until midnight (like a babysit) and then a sleepover price ( as a nanny I used to charge £30 from midnight- wake up) so for you it would then be hourly rate from 7.30-8.30

Really you have to ask nanny she would expect.

Agree hourly rate till midnight and then sleepover fee of £30

If I do this for work then I charge £80

Thanks jendot. That sounds like a fair arrangement. I will ask my nanny what she expects, but I wanted to have a view of what others do first. We have muddled through this a bit in the past and I don't think she is comfortable in saying right out what she wants.

I pay something similar - babysitting rate til 11pm then £50 overnight til the little ones wake up.
