Can anyone recommend a good maternity nurse or maternity nurse company that operates in the Clapham area in London?

I am registered with eden nannies which are pretty efficient though most of work is in London and I prefer to work within my area.

Maternally yours and maternity nurse company are two others which spring to mind.

I think its Vanessa and Emma at Eden that deal with maternity posts.

You could also have a look on nannyjob for someone but you would have to vet them yourselves.

I'm a maternity nurse that is based in Shepherds Bush and can work in Clapham. My emails is nz us uk @hotmail.com (without the spaces).

If you would rather go through a company I highly recommend Maternity Solutions.

I can highly recommend Tanya at Maternal Response she is lovely; I'm not far from Clapham (further out to SW) and she found me lots of candidates. Website is www.maternalrespone.co.uk

I also used Tigerlily maternity, Charlotte was very nice but didn't actually provide me with a maternity nurse in the end.

Personally I didn't think much of Eden Nannies

We contacted loads, but in the end only maternally yours sent us any good candidates. It doesn't really matter where you are based (although am v. close to you in SW9!) as the nurses will be living in your house and a couple we considered were willing to come down from Midlands or NE for the job.
The most important thing is to book one as soon as you can - the best ones are booked up a long time in advance. We interviewed ours in Jan (DTs due June) and our first and second choices accepted other jobs before we got round to booking them (maybe 2 weeks later?).

Meant to say, contact as many agencies as you can bear (you only pay when you hire the nurse), and just read all the CVs and references they send until someone stands out. It's kind of irrelevant what the agency is like - it's the maternity nurse you're hiring.

You may find someone on here who is available when you need them (would save agency fees!!).

Try searching just via google for maternity nurse and your postcode although many will travel some have own websites and many maternity nurses and nannies advertise privately and are regsitered with agencies so could get same person without all the fees but you would have the work to do with all the checks etc but then think most parents double check all this anyway.

otherwise a good agency to use is www.kidsmatter.uk.com
