How do I keep potential families happy till I am registered

I keep hearing how long Ofsted take to get you through the whole process. Has anyone had experience of families approaching you know you are going through the process but want you to start looking after their children before the process has been completed. The family need to get back to work at a set time and the Ofsted process is still going on. How do you handle this situation without losing the family?

You could work for them as a nanny in their own home, but they couldn't pay with childcare vouchers etc until you were registered - they would also be responsible for paying your tax/ni etc

I lost a couple of families while waiting for Ofsted to catch up. Some can wait and some can't. If it's just one family, the nannying option is best.

I worked for them as a nanny in their home but I have worked most of my adult life as a nanny so have refs, insurance etc already in place as a nanny. Because it was short term and on a temp basis, I did it on a self employed basis. But again this was only possible because I was working at the time as a self employed temp and maternity nanny.

One family wanted 3 days and another family wanted just one afternoon so I shared my time between them.

i am now registered and have them coming to me which is so much easier
