Pre-registration visit

I am going through the processor registering with Ofsted to be a childminder. I am getting a little confused with the requirements needed for this visit. I have filled in the form Preparing for your visit, but there doesn't seem to be any list or help of what needs to be in place before this visit. I know that I need first aid kit, fir blanket etc. Also stair gates and the usual safety things around the house, door stopper etc. Is there anything else that I need to be looking at? What actually happens at this visit? Thank you in advance for any advice you can give.

The pre registration visit is to determined your suitability to be a cm. You should have risk assessed your home and garden, highlight any changes needed such as baby gates and cupboard locks. You don't need to have these things in place just need to show what you will put in place once you are registered to keep the children safe.
You will be asked about eyfs and safeguarding.

Also, the inspector will want to see every room even those that you don't want to use for cming. I know of many people who thought that as their bedroom was not going to be registered they could use it as a 'dumping' ground during the visit (me included). A huge shock when the inspector wanted a look [embarrassed]

Good Luck
