NCMA/Morton Michel Insurance

My insurance is up for renewal and I am trying to decide whether to leave NCMA and go for Morton Michel.

Do any of you have any strong feelings either way?

I have been ploughing through their websites, trying to see the difference in price and cover and my brain is scrambled!

I should maybe add, that I work with my DH, so I will be paying for 2 (we get a discount for the 2nd person with NCMA)

you can have MM insurance and still have membership at NCMA.

I do think its worth being an NCMA member - they lobby on our behalf, provide training and work hard on our behalf - member or not.

That's what I'm planning this year. Its going to work out slightly more expensive but it will give me the best of both worlds. I've heard really positive things about MM insurance. I'm not sure how they compare with two minders working together though.

That's what I have done too. I want to support NCMA & still be able to get their membership benefits such as Who Minds but I felt MM's insurance was better, plus with MM you get access to an online version of Creative Steps magazine & other perks. You also get free employers liability insurance (for working with an assistant, having students etc) which NCMA charge more for. I now have my car & household insurance with MM too as they gave me better quotes than Bluefin and better service.
More expensive this way but I felt it was worth it

Thanks. I did get my car insurance with MM this year, because they gave me the best deal.

They were really good with us over our house insurance. Had no claims in 15 years then 4 in the past 5. Because of this Bluefin couldn't find an insurance company who would insure us with CM initially. Eventually they did (£778!!!) but they were insisting on us fitting new door & window locks (not sure why as non of claims related to burglary) and had an accidental damage excess of £1000. MM were able to find a specific CM policy with a £250 excess which was still £700 but much better. They were so helpful.
