Potential of employing a T.A. as a nanny. Any experiences/advice?

I have the potential opportunity of employing one of the TA's from my DC's school as a nanny. She heard that I'll need a nanny as from August and approached me.

As I hadn't started advertising yet, I hadn't thought out a job description or decided what I'll need to pay. But if it works out, the TA will need to give a terms notice, so I need to get on with it.

She's an absolutely amazing lady, has been in the classes of 2 of my DC and all the children and adults adore her. She'd be sorely missed by the school, but she said she's been there 15 years and would like a change. Now that her own children are flying the nest, she doesn't have to do term time only work anymore.

Could the school be angry with me/her? My DC will still be there, and she'll have to go there for drop offs and pick ups, so I wouldn't want any awkwardness.

Does anyone know what a T.A. at a good private prep is likely to earn? I know TA's are generally very underpaid for what they do.

Also, does anyone have experience of switching between being a TA and a nanny? Or employing a former TA? What are the potential pitfalls?

I really don't want her to leave a secure job, only for it not to work out for her as our nanny. Or for her to have unrealistic expectations and not enjoy the change.
