Any nannies here had an Ofsted inspection?

I've got mine on Tuesday! Ofsted phoned on Friday afternoon so at least I've not had too much time to worry about it - not that I am really, I know my paperwork is all correct and I've done appropriate courses etc it's just that anxiousness about the 'official' side of it.

I used to be a cm, but stopped just as Ofsted started upping all the paperwork that needed doing - so the inspection lasted about 1 - 1½ hours. I hear now that they can take 4-6 hours for cm's Shock

If you've had an inspection as a nanny, how long did it last? Nice sounding lady on the phone, she said it wouldn't take too long, but how long is not too long? Also, what kind of questions will they ask me?

Hi, I have had one it lasted about 20 mins!! Just went through all my paperwork!! A friend had one and again lasted 20-30 mins, included tour of the house to make sure it was safe!! where she came to my house.
Don't worry its really ok.
good luck

Tour of the house? Ofsted have no control in a private house. Nanny should though point out dangers to parents. Though what one person feels is safe will differ from anothers.

I ve been registered for nearly three years and not had a visit from Ofsted yet.

I had one. It was 20 min, we had a cup of tea,she went through my papers such as first aid, insurance than asked questions about safeguarding and health and safety. She was very nice and didn't tour the house, and she came when boys were asleep as she knew that I wouldn't have a chance talking if two toddlers are running around.

Thanks all - will report back and let you know how it goes.

Was supposed to receive a letter with a permission form for my boss to sign to allow Ofsted onto the premises. Not arrived, so hav texted boss to write a short note and sign it.

She came - was here for 30 minutes and we spent half of that discussing cm's and the hoops they have to jump through for Ofsted.

Ofsted outsource their inspectors (or some of them) to agencies. She said they were really busy at the moment as they have quite a number of inspections that need to be completed before March. Mine used to be an Under 8's officer for cm's in the days before Ofsted.

She looked at my paperwork and asked me a couple of questions and it was done Grin
