Anyone left NCMA?

I just don't like their paperwork and forms, I want to do it myself. Am due for renewal in Feb - I'm guessing I need to redo all the contracts afresh with each parent?

Does Morton & Michel just do insurance? Would anyone recommend them?

Thanks.

i ordered all of my paperwork (and insurance) through MM. It is fab. The contracts are really easy to use and the other paperwork looks very straightforward too

Why do you think you need to re-do contracts? They are contracts between you and the parents and don't involve the NCMA.

MM are considerably cheaper than NCMA as you don't have to join an organisation first.

Cool. I thought if I left NCMA the contracts wouldn't be valid or something? Good to know I wouldn't have to redo them.

Will look into M&M thanks.

I'm leaving NCMA when my renewal is due! As for contracts, I can see why you'd have thought you'd need to redo them as I think NCMA legal team would only help if you used THEIR contracts but I THINK MM are much better are will help regardless?

I changedfrom ncma to mm and it was no trouble at all. Didnt miss ncma and mm send a really useful ideas and info email monthly too. Do it and save yourself some money!

I am still with the NCMA!

However, I do have a gripe about their (expensive) forms. During an inspection, it was pointed out that I did not have a statement in my paper work asking, "Who has legal contact with the child" and "Who has parental responsibility for the child."

I have had to add these statements on the "anything else your childminder should know about your child" of the NCMA Child Record Form.

My start-up grant covered the cost of the forms from the NCMA Start Up Kit. Had I paid for those forms out of my costs, I would have demanded a refund!

IMO the NCMA should know these things. In the EYFS, it clearly instructs settings to obtain such information. I rely on organisations like the NCMA to ensure the forms they produce are 'fit for purpose' IYSWIM.
