Sounds like you're doing too much - let him/her chill out a bit and I would try to establish more than 1 hour a day sleep time, if only to give you a break as well.

Why do you need to be in whilst the kitchen is refitted. When I had my kitchen done, I went on holiday!

Could make Playdough - if you have the means of making hot water.

Have tried the chilling out this, she has more energy then any child I've known :o

If she isn't focussed on something then she trashes the house (I let her do that last week also...not to be repeated :o)

She will sleep longer then an hour if we've been out all morning...which we always are....this full days at home thing is different for us!

Don't know WHY we need to be there, something to do with insurance and someone having to be there...or something!
Wish we could go on holiday :o

Ooh yes playdough sounds good!

thank you!

Have you got a garden? If so, get her out there.
Have you ever played with shaving foam? It is great fun just spread on a table and you just move it around with your hands. You can draw shapes in it and even mould it into shapes. It is also extremely easy to clean up.

Ooh shving foam's a good idea! Thank you!

agree with nick, when works kitchen was being done we escaped every day, rang round all the nannies/mums i knew and booked myself there for the day and lunch Grin

can a friend pop round with their dc?

How about giving her some dry pasta to 'cook' with? Perhaps if you can get to them she can play with a saucepan and a wooden spoon to stir it and then serve it to you. Yum!

Liquid soap and sand are good mixed together, though it can get messy so have wipes/water nearby!

Whatever you do, I hope the week goes quickly for you.

Might be too late, but can you get hold of a Jo Jingles DVD or similar and play along to the music , saucepans will do, or make a shaker!

My son is 20 m and it would be long day if we couldn't get out, good luck!
