Ofsted registration: How long???

If you could share your experiences with me that would be fantastic, as I'm about to take on board a young nanny who is willing to register with Ofsted. She would work for us and register with Ofsted at the same time.
She is CRB checked and has a valid first Aid certificate, which I hear can take a long time in the registration process.

So my question is, when can she be registered if we start the application now?

She is such a lovely girl, I'm ready to take the risk, but 3 month wait would be my maximum.

Thanks for your help

By the way, she would only register as a home childcarer on the Voluntary chilcare register
Thanks, that might help!

Yes, apply online, assuming she meets the training/qualification requirements.

It can take several months. Ofsted will redo the CRB check, unless it is one they have done in the past couple of months. So my rule of thumb for CRB check is 2 weeks plus 1 week for every address.

I can't help you with that, but all I can say is that our nanny said she would get ofsted registered when she started with us, three months later she's still not registered. A word of warning if you're thinking of using childcare vouchers through your work, unless you can afford to have £243 of your salary go every month in to an account, as well as paying your nanny, then don't register for vouchers until your nanny is registered. I have nearly £1000 in vouchers waiting to be used!!
